In the business world, “You scratch my back, and I’ll scratch yours,” is a time-honored tradition. However if you think you can get away with this type of tactic for back linking, think again.
In recent times, reciprocal links were a popular way to gain some link juice. One webmaster placed a link from another site on his or her site in exchange for a link from that site. Google has caught on to this scheme, and reciprocal linking as a way to rise in the SERPs is dead.
You need one-way links in to your site from authority sites to rise in the search engines. While it’s not impossible at all to get these on your own, be prepared to be sitting in front of your computer for a very long stretch finding do-follow sites, filling out forum profiles and commenting on blogs.
It is nearly impossible for someone doing all of this research manually in finding quality sites to get links in enough quantity to really make a difference in their SERP (search engine ranking position.)
And if you are writing all of your own content yourself, it makes it doubly difficult.
Utilizing a back linking service can just make sense in terms of saving you much time and energy. If your time is worth money (and it most certainly is), investigate what such a service would cost and what they offer.
They have the tools and the manpower to get done what you just don’t have time to accomplish.
And if you ignore the importance of back linking your sites, you are leaving money on the table.
